Process and Medicaid requirements

A referral for ABA therapy from a signed Medical Professional (Nurse or Physician Assistant Signatures are not accepted), and a qualifying diagnosis is confirmed by a medical professional. 

• A copy of a diagnostic evaluation. For autism, this is usually an ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule)
• These documents are used to request authorization for ABA through eQHealth for Medicaid.
• Approval time through Medicaid can take 2 weeks-1 a month, and when ABA is approved, you will receive a letter directly at your home.
